Living It Out By Faith Pt. 18

And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”

Mark 5:34 NKJV

This week’s verse comes from a passage that covers the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34. There are some key truths that we can take away from this passage that will help us understand how to live out our walk of faith.

The first thing we need to recognize is that this woman was a lawbreaker. According to the law of moses, she was not supposed to be touching anyone or even be out in public. What this means is, she was healed by God even when she was not living the perfect life. So often we miss out on what God wants to do in our lives because we think our mistakes or failures disqualify us from His best. They don’t, as we see here.

The second thing we see is that this woman was saying to herself things that were building her faith (verse 28). She wasn’t saying how sick she was or how unlikely it was that God would heal her, she was saying over and over again. “If I can just touch His clothes, I’ll be healed.” We need to be building our faith with what we say! We need to be speaking words of life over ourself, not words of doubt.

Finally, Jesus said that it was HER faith that made her well. It wasn’t God’s divine decision to heal her, it was her believing God! God’s will is always for us to be healthy, but it is whether or not we reach out and touch that word in faith that determines if we will see it.

Be Blessed and Encouraged,

John
