What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

Psalms 8:4‭-‬5 NKJV

God has made us a little lower than Himself! That word “angel” in Hebrew is actually “Elohim” which translates to God. You have been made like God! But why? Why has God given us His glory and His honor, His goodness and His favor? Why did God make us like Him? So that He could be in relationship with us! 

From the beginning of creation, God walked with man and spoke with them. He had relationship. John 17:3 says that eternal life is knowing God, and John 3:16 says that Jesus died to give us eternal life. So the whole reason God sent Jesus was to restore us back to fellowship with God! 

The highest form of intimacy and relationship with God is not working for Him. It’s not obedience, it’s not serving. The highest form of relationship with God is fellowship with Him. It’s knowing Him and letting Him know you. God wants to talk with you, to sit with you. He wants to help you and hold you and just be with you. Will you let Him?
