Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

Substance is material. It’s what something consists of. Evidence is proof that something exists. This verse tells us that your faith is proof that you have what you believe God for! Your faith is what your answer consists of. 

So how does this tie into what we have been talking about, faith working by love? Well, remember, the more you receive and know the love of God, the more your faith works. This means that the more we know God loves us, the more substantial our substance becomes! The more we are rooted in the grace of God, the more immovable your evidence becomes. 

Faith is not of the head, it’s of the heart, but that doesn’t mean it’s not real. As Hebrews 11:1 shows us, it is simply unseen. But just like air, unseen things are often the most important to our lives! Faith is the same way. The just live by faith (Romans 1:17). Even when you can’t see your answer, if you have faith, you have evidence that your answer is on its way!
